Aradhane of Sri Gopala Dasa is celebrated at Uthanoor,Mosara Kallu village on 13/1/2015.

Life of Sri Bhaganna :
Period:1722 to 1762
Bhaganna lived along with his three brothers with his mother Venkamma, since his father had expired exposing them to great difficulties. An accounts officer of a neighbouring village arranged for the thread ceremony of the children free of cost and the priest who conducted the function emphasised the power of gayatri.

Bhaganna took the adivce to the heart and formally took permisssion from greatest god for a person viz.his mother started to sincerely chant the greatest mantra gayatri and by the repeated chanting and purascharanah of the sacred hymn for a period of two years under a vata vraksha(banyan tree)Bhaganna was endowed with the gift of telling the bhoota, vartamanah and bhavishya of a person(the past, present and future). Fame, name, glory and riches began to pour upon Bhagannaa who was languishing in penury previously. Even the Gadwal king came to him and got prediction from him and gifted with him with lot  of wealth.

Bhaganna to become Gopala Dasaru:
A dramatic change took place in his life when bhaganna happened to go to see thimanna at adoni (thimannan was a minister at the court of baslad jung, nawab of adoni and a good friend of bhaganna) . At that time Sri Vijayadaasaru had camped there and Bhaganna  was captivated by the great saint  and Bhaganna left the practice of foretelling and fell  at the Lotus feet of the dasaru and requested him to kindly initiate into daasa koota which the  latter did so  in the manga rayara devastana at adoni and gave him the ankhita name of Gopala vittala and henceforth He was known as Sri Gopala Dasaru.
Gopala dasa was a great Haridasa, who gave 40 years of his life to Sri Jagannatha Dasa, as per orders of Sri Vijayadasa. He has composed thousands of Suladhis,Ugabhogas. His dasarapadha extols the Supremacy of  Lord Sri Hari strongly and proved Sri Madhva siddhanta to such a great extent. Its commonly believed that Sri Gopala Dasaru is an amsha of Sri Ganesha.

Some of  starting lines of his Songs:
There are thousands of songs composed by Sri Gopaladasaru, the below are those which are known to me.

Our great dasaru says, Oh great saint Sri Vadiraja, like the bee which knows the essence of honey of flower, you very well know the nectar of lotus feet of Lord Sri Hayavadhana. Please bless us with the remembrance of your holy feet.
Our great dasaru Sri Gopala Dasaru was one of the sincere and great devotee of Sri Vadiraja Mahaprabhu, who is affectionately called as Rajaru.Gopala dasaru in one of his songs says:Smarane(thinking) on his Guru Sri Vadirajaru holy feet is important,as it will fetch blessings of Lord Sri Hayavadhana. Also asks us to pray Sri Vadirajaru, who gives Sukha(happiness) to his devotees always and there is no doubt in that.

Thanks for the informations. Uthanoor,Mosara Kallu village is near to my native place Devadurga of Raichur district just 25km away, very sacred place. I used to visit regularly Gopaldasara’s home. One more place very famous and most sacred place like bicchali is Koppar, 11 km away from Devadurga, Ashwath Vriksha, Shodashabahu LakshmiNarasimha Temple, Many people have their kuladevaru koppara laxmi narasimha….more than 5000 years old, written about this place in Skanda Purana also, where Sripadarajaru got his name, many more history and miracles happened in this place, The holy Krishna River flows here.

It was our fortune we visited the home of Sri Gopaladasaru from Mantralaya in a car, had the opportunity of viweing the ‘puja sagri’ used by Dasaru, the well where foodgrains were stored. Unforgetable experience in lifetime of all of us in Uttanuru.
