About Udupi:
Jagadguru Sri Sri Madhvacharya did installation of Sri Balarama at Vadabhandeshwara,Malpe and Lord Sri Krishna at Parasurama shetra called “Udupi” facing Lord in West direction.Lord is worshipped only through a window with nine holes called the Navagraha Kitiki
Acharya Madhva divided in to eight groups and made Sri Krishna to be worshipped by each mutt for every two months period.

About Paryaya:
Worshipping Sri Krishna by the 8 pithadhipatis of Udupi(in rotation)is called Paryaaya,one who worships presently is called Paryaaya Swamiji.
One should remember that our saint Sri Vadiraja Tirtha introduced the new paryaya system at Udupi by increasing the period of pooja by Astha mathas from two months to two years in Udupi.Click here to know more about Paryaya in detail.
About Sri Vidyadheesha Tirtha , Palimaru Mutt:
After taking up the sainthood, Shri Shri Vidyadeesha Teertharu learnt the Sarvamoola Granthas, Shrimanyaayasudha and Vyasa Traya under Shri Shri Vidyamaanya Teertharu at the Adarsha (archetype) Gurukula at Adamaru. During the same period, while he conducted lessons and discourses for the students of the gurukula, alongside, he concluded the study of Shrimanyaayasudha under Shri Vidyamaanya Teertharu and the mangalotsava was conducted on 10.12.1984 at Adamaru. Engaged in service to his Guru, studying and teaching, in 1986 during the paryaya of Shri Vidyamaanya Teertha of Shri Palimaru Matha, he as Junior Seer was involved in the special worship of Shri Krishna and bedecked Krishna differently every day In front of Shri Krishna and the presence of his Guru, on 10.10.1988 he concluded the two year long discourse on Shrimanyaayasudha –courtesy sripalimarumatha.org

Paryaya 2018:
Sri Sri Vishvesha Tirtha did the pooja of Lord Shri Krishna for the first time in the year 1952. For the record fifth time his holiness ascended the peeta on 18th January 2016 to 18th January 2018. For the second time his holiness Sri Vidyadheesha Tirtha will ascend Paryaya for next two years. It is a great opportunity for us to visit this grant event.
