The aradhane of one of the greatest Sri Harih Dasaru-Sri Jagannatha Dasaru falls tomorrow i.e, 16-09-2010.I would like to write a small article on him with the blessings of Hari Vayu Gurgalu.
Sri Jagannath Dasaru (1727 to 1809) is considered one of the notable Haridasa who was born at a native of Manvi town in the Raichur district, Karnataka.He has composed nearly 10,000 songs, they are lucid, melodious and musical. The encyclopedia of Madhwa philosophy is called Sri Harikathamrutha Saara which was written by this greatest Dasaru.
Sri Vijayadaasaru, an aproksha Gyanin directed Sri Jagannatha Dasaru to Sri Gopaala Daasaru who would be his swaroopa guru. Sri Gopala daasaru gave him Haridaasa Deekshe and directed him to Pandarapur and kept ankitha as Jaganatha Vitthala.
When Jagannatha Dasaru saw Sri VijayaDasaru he starts worshipping him singing “Rathinadhorakithalla ena genmaathinadhorakithalla”says that he found a very rare and divine gem called Sri VijayaDasaru. With the blessings of Sri Vijayadasaru and Gopala Dasaru, Jagannatha Dasaru continued his life as Haridasaru and propagated Sri Madhwa philosophy….

Would like to inform that this painting of Sri Jagannatha Dasaru was done by my Father Sri M Ramanarasiah for Dasa Sahithya project, Tirupathi 3 decades back.
My father who is active @ 88 years @ Mysore also painted all the Dasas as a series. Mr Appannacharya was the special officer during that time & he took special efforts to get this series executed.
