Kannapiranadi/Madhanam is a small agrahara in the Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu. Bhavi Indra Devaru Shri Vishwapriya Tirtharu ( 1774-1865) of Sode Shri Vadiraja Matha performed one of his chaturmasya’s in this village and taught Madhwa Siddantha for the Madhwa sajjana’s of Pancha grama’s(Hanumanthapuram, Anaikkalchattiram, Kollidam,  unjimedu) around Kannapiranadi. He also installed the idol of Shri Mukhyaprana Devaru along with the Mrittika Vrundavana of Bhavi Sameera Shri Vadiraja Swami.

After the Vrundavana pravesha of Shri Vishwapriya Tirtharu, an mrittika vrundavana of Shri Vishwapriya Tirtharu was also installed in the Matha. Recenlty the Mrittika Vrundavana of Shri Raghavendra Swamiji was also added in the Matha.

Aradhana’s of Bhavi Sameera Shri Vadiraja Swami, Shri Vishwapriya Tirtharu, and other festival’s like Krishna Janmashtami, Deepavali, Dhatri Havana etc are conducted with lot of grandeur.

About Swapnavrundavanakhyana
SwapnaVrundavanakhyana as the name suggests was a swapna upadesha from Shri Vadiraja Swamiji to his deaf and dumb disciple after his brindavana pravesha. The disciple used to get speaking power next morning and used to recite what all he heard from Rajaru in front of Shri Vedanidhi Tirtharu the then pontiff and Shri Ramachandracharya who used to write it down. This happened over a period of 40 years from 1600 to 1640. Shri Vadiraja Swami in Swapnavrundavanakhyana gives many esoteric details like his swaroopa, vaibhava of his brundavana, greatness of the Sode kshetra, benefits of chanting the stotra and many things which are to happen in the future. The grantha runs into 2200 shloka’s divided into 22 chapters.

Rajaru himself says that  Swapnavrundavanakhyana is Veda tulya and is equal to Purusha Sukta. It is an extremely powerful stotra and should be chanted to gain the full grace and blessings of Sri Madhwa Vadiraja antargatha Shri Hayagreeva Devaru.

Accommodation has been arranged in the nearby Hanumathapuram Agrahara. For those who are coming from Seerkali/Chidambaram , please get down at the Pazhayar Bus Stop and ask for Madhanam village. For further details please contact us through comments
